The Belarusian government concluded the tactical-special exercise “Voenkor-2025,” an intensive training program aimed at journalists from state-owned media outlets.
The closing ceremony took place at a special operations forces unit, with the presence of high-ranking military officials.
Over seven days, the participants — all from state-controlled media — underwent an extreme journalism course under the direct supervision of the Armed Forces.
The program included emergency medical training, shooting practice, topographic navigation, forest survival, terrain orientation, and protocols for interacting with military units during combat operations.
Specific conduct in case of capture was also taught, aligned with the official government narrative.

At the ceremony, the Assistant Minister of Defense for Ideological Work in the Armed Forces and Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work, Major General Leonid Kasinsky, thanked the journalists and handed out certificates of completion and official souvenirs.
In his speech, he emphasized the importance of journalists “prepared to fulfill their mission in extreme situations,” reinforcing the integration between state media and the military apparatus.
The initiative, presented as professional training, is viewed by critics as another mechanism for indoctrination and ideological alignment, consolidating state media dependence on the directives of Alexander Lukashenko’s government.
Organizations such as Reporters Without Borders and the Committee to Protect Journalists rank Belarus among the countries with the lowest press freedom in the world — in 2024, it was positioned at the bottom of the global ranking.
